Overview

A Technology Audit Group (TAG) Intern is an educational and training position that is designed to (1) provide the intern with an understanding of the IT auditing profession, (2) provide the intern with formal training in the IT audit process, and (3) provide the intern with opportunities to develop his/her audit skills on a TAG audit team.

Job Distinctions

The TAG Intern position differs from the TAG Staff Auditor 1 position as the intern requires less technical knowledge and skills, is given less complex tasks and responsibility, and receives a greater level of supervision.

 

Examples of Work

Communication (written and verbal)

    • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and auditee personnel.
    • Demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
    • Effectively communicates work performed through prepared audit documentation submitted for supervisor review.

Organization

    • Prepares well-organized, logical, and clear audit documentation.
    • Demonstrates appropriate attention to detail.
    • Organizes working papers in a logical order that can be easily followed by supervisors and other members of the audit team.

Professional Conduct:

    • Accepts responsibility for actions.
    • Adheres to LLA standards of conduct and protocols.
    • Maintains a positive, constructive attitude and works well with others.
    • Maintains confidentiality of client information.

Knowledge

    • Maintains knowledge of office policies and audit manual.
    • Uses LLA audit computer hardware and software proficiently.

Qualifications

Working on a baccalaureate degree in IT (various IT-related degrees are acceptable) or accounting, from an accredited college or university, with the intent to eventually take the CISA, CISSP, or CPA examination, AND

Able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week.
