Education Outreach Senior II is an outgoing individual who enjoys creating a variety of educational resources and is passionate about educating and training people on state and local government accounting, finance, operational, and compliance topics. The Education Outreach Senior II is a highly skilled professional with an advanced knowledge of governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, auditing standards, internal controls, and best practices. In addition, the Education Outreach Senior II possesses initiative, creativity, and excellent communication, and organizational skills, is able to adeptly handle multiple deadlines and projects, and is comfortable making presentations to large groups of people and taking on a teaching role.
Our paid internship program is designed to accomplish three things: 1) provide the intern an opportunity to work with a team on a relevant project(s) within our Financial Audit Services section, 2) formally train and develop their skills, and 3) provide him/her with a realistic preview of what full-time employment is like as a staff auditor.

Performance auditors develop audit objectives to address important issues affecting Louisiana government, such as program effectiveness and efficiency, as well as compliance with state laws and regulations. Interns work as part of a diverse team to gain an understanding of government programs and processes, interview agency staff, research best practices, and analyze datasets to evaluate how well a program is functioning. Interns will create accurate, well-documented working papers and draw overall conclusions based on collected evidence. Teams then draft clear and concise reports, outlining issues identified and make meaningful recommendations for program improvement.
Our paid internship lasts one semester term, with the possibility of renewal. Interns should be available to work 20 to 30 hours per week.

Our Investigative Senior Auditors are skilled professionals with a strong knowledge of accounting practices and investigative methods.
